"Changing HOW the World Thinks About Cyber Security"
I help people and businesses change the way they think about cyber security. I have a unique perspective that goes beyond traditional cyber security practices to challenge conventional wisdom and inspire innovative approaches to cyber security.
As the founder of Cyber Cognition™ I bring over 20 years of expertise that bridges the gap between technical knowledge and strategic leadership, simplifying cyber security for businesses of all sizes. My passion lies in applying scientifically proven theories of systems thinking to reshape how individuals and teams perceive and respond to cyber security challenges.
I have worked in numerous countries around the globe in both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as large multinational organisations and possess a wealth of experience in scaling cyber security capabilities and building highly performing teams for some of Australia's most trusted brands.
I currently hold board positions as an Independent Director and Chair of security sub-committee, and am often engaged for expert consulting to help validate hypotheses or business challenges. Clients include private equity, management consultants, institutional investors, and corporate clients.
As a recognised expert in the fields of cyber security and systems thinking, I have written multiple articles for industry publications, presented at international and national conferences, published in scientific journals, and appeared on numerous podcasts. I was recently a finalist in the 2023 Australian Chief Information Security Officer of the Year Awards.
No stranger to volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments having served for eight years in the Royal Australian Navy, I acquired the necessary skills to operate effectively in high-pressure situations and to cultivate high-performing teams. I also spent five years as a professional scuba diving instructor on the Great Barrier Reef teaching over 850 students how to safely explore the underwater world.
